Session #2 –April 23, 2021

It’s been another impactful week for citizens of Planet Earth, as we ponder our roles in the Divine Unfolding Plan. On the Lady’s Year for Joy Calendar, this is the final week of the Month of Joyful Awareness, focusing on Air and Airy Things.

Here’s how we’ll prepare for the Dromenon Walk:

  • Peggy Rubin and Jean Houston will lead our observance of Shakespeare’s Birthday (also his Death Day),
  • Guest cameo speaker: Dromenon Progam member Maxine Klein will talk about her search for truth and essence as a theatrical scenic designer and more recently as member of the scenic art crew for Saturday Night Live.

Post-Daphne Integral Practice and Coherence

It’s a sunny spring day in Ashland. The daphne on the deck has dropped its blossoms and is busy growing bright green new leaves, readying itself for a glorious display next year. My beloved “regular” maple tree sprouted those little dangly green things and miniature leaves. The Japanese maples are showing deep red leaf growth. And on and on all over town. I can’t help but smile a lot.

Chancellor Jean Houston spoke several times to the assembly of more than a hundred people across the planet, validating and evoking new perspectives and inspiring confidence. Check out the topics – great things are happening everywhere. It’s wonderful that ZOOM makes such gatherings simple and safe.

And there was Michael Meade’s online Personal Myth Workshop yesterday. Life is good. Now to vacuum the floors…

On April 23, Dromenon participant Maxine Williams is our Cameo Guest. Maxine has many talents including Professional Scenic Designer and is currently a painter for Saturday Night Live. Maxine volunteered last quarter and promptly had to work a bunch of Fridays. It’s a lovely co-incidence that it’s Shakepeare’s Birthday.

A community of coherence requires two-way (or more) communication. I am working on a new website and blog to make it easier for us to communicate. Meanwhile, please feel free to reply to my emails the old fashioned “reply” or “reply all” way and/or delete as needed.

Daphne, Cosmology and Creativity

This morning, I took a walk around the block in the cold air of the morning. Along the way the fragrance of the biggest daphne bush I never saw before stopped me in my tracks. What a joy! Obviously, it’s been there for years, and I must have passed it many times – but today, it is in mature full bloom and will not be ignored! Back home, I read some of yesterday’s email and found this jewel, posted by Ron Bell on inthedance. The video, produced by Jan Phillips in 2012, expresses some of what the Dromenon Project is about. Welcome to Spring 2021 Dromenon Program!

We look forward to seeing you Friday, for the first session of the Spring 2021 Dromenon Program, where we will be creating community and fusing joy with spiritual practice.

Great News & Schedule Adjustment: Jean Houston will be providing her sense of the personal, mythic, and spiritual dimensions of walking the Dromenon in the context of current world events and implications for the future. To make room for Jean’s compelling teachings, evocative processes, and group discussion, we are folding the optional half-hour into the whole, making each session two hours in length.

To create and maintain a secure and sacred intentional space, we follow certain practices:

  • Please sign in 10 – 15 mins early; each session begins promptly at 2 PM Pacific  
  • We close the Waiting Room door at start time to avoid interruptions.
  • If you miss a session, you can catch up by watching the recording; you will receive a link to the recording, which will be posted on Vimeo.    
  • If you lose connection during the session, email cohost lenita@me.com to let her know that you’ll be trying to get back in so that she can re-open the waiting room for you.
  • Exercise our superpowers of Patience, Kindness, and Gratitude

Winter 2021 Dromenon Program starts January 15

The comments you shared with me about the Fall/Winter 2020 Program is strong evidence of the power of the Dromenon!

It is also clear this country – and the world   – needs people like us who seek inner calm and strength from walking the Dromenon. The new series begins Friday, January 15, at 2 PM. If you are able to make a payment (your choice of amount as explained in the marketing email below) it will make enable payment to staff and presenters and help make the project sustainable. Thank you for your consideration. If you need a scholarship, please contact me. I hope to welcome you to the second season!

No-Frills Dromenon Walks January 4,5,6 at 12 noon PST

I just got off the phone with a dear friend who spoke truthfully and elegantly of what we are facing now. Everything is in the balance:

the physical, spiritual, and financial health and wellbeing of ourselves, our democracy, the planet, human civilization. The coming week looms large with far-reaching political decisions that will be made for good or bad.

For the Fall Quarter of 2020, the Dromenon Program provided a space to hold three high intentions:

One, to strengthen personal resolve, resilience, and creativity.

Two, to generate community energy to help sustain the field of wellbeing of the world.

Three, to discern appropriate actions to help safeguard the health of democracy.

Practical matters (energy, budget, time, adequate staffing, etc) require a delay of at least a week in the Winter 2021 Dromenon Program. Meanwhile, The Lady inspired me to offer “no-frills” Dromenon Walks on the critical days Jan 4, 5, and 6 at 12 noon PST, for those same three high intentions listed above.

No-frills means just you and me – simply walking the dromenon using finger labyrinths and sharing afterward. (Volunteer frills will be accepted, of course, just not scripted.)

If you choose to join me for these three walks, register in advance as always. The same registration will be good for all three days. No charge; any donations will be applied toward the Winter 2021 program.

If the schedule doesn’t work for you, please do your own walk alone or organize with others, abiding by the pandemic instructions.
